G'day.  I heard about your work while I was in Japan earlier this year, 
but never followed up on it; sorry about that.

I think we would be very interested to see how you manage to adapt the 
newconfig architecture for the sort of dynamism that we need, and I 
certainly look forward to reading your code.

I don't actually think that this is considered much of a weakness.  We 
would still be incompatible even if we used their architecture because 
our module system will be (quite) different.

This may be the case, although I don't think that it's actually as
significant as you feel.  The actual glue involved in instantiating a 
new device and demand-loading it is relatively small compared to other 
parts of the project.
